Standard #8 Instructional Strategies – The teacher understands and uses a variety of instructional strategies to encourage learners to develop deep understanding of content areas and their connections, and to build skills to apply knowledge in meaningful ways.
INTASC #8 Interpretation– The use of different instructional methods is important when thinking of my student’s success. In order for my students to deepen their understanding, skills, and knowledge my lessons will need to be prepared to support these needs. To support student’s needs to connect and build upon understanding, skills, and knowledge, I will provide instruction through various avenues.

In the letter to parents provided above is an example of a letter to my prospective students’ parents. In the letter, I state my teaching experiences, philosophies, and important lessons/objectives to look forward to. This was written to welcome the parents of my students, and give them an important first look into my classroom.
